Calcium

Calcium (Ca), one of the major chemical elements has an atomic number 20 and is the fifth element as well as the third most ample metal in the earths crust. It comes with less chemically reactivity in comparison with alkaline metals as well as other alkaline-earth metals. The element is an extremely ductile silvery metal that comes with a pale yellow shade whose phyical properties are much kindred to the heavier elements in its grouping such as, strontium, radium and barium. In its contact with air, Calcium evolves into a nitride coating and an oxide, which give protection from further corrosion.

Applications:

• Utilized in aluminium alloys for bearings, utilized in maintenance-free automotive batteries,
• Used as the deoxidizer in the production of various steels, works as a reducing agent in the formulation of metals as thorium, zirconium, chromium, and uranium.
• Employed as the separating physical for gaseous concoctions of nitrogen and argon.
• Used as an alloying for the production of alluminium, copper, lead, beryllium, and magnesium alloys, has strong chemical chemical attraction for sulfur and oxygen.
